This policy explains how personal data is processed on this site under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spanish data protection law.

What we process and why#
- Publishing listings: the title, description and contact details you provide. They are published as-is on the board, so only include details you want visible. Legal basis: your consent when submitting the form.
- Abuse prevention: we store an irreversible hash of the IP address a listing is posted from, not the IP itself. It is used to detect bulk posting. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
- Email enquiries: whatever you write to us, in order to reply. Legal basis: your consent.
- Advertising: we display third-party ads which may use cookies. See the cookie policy.
What we do NOT process#
The locator computes eclipse circumstances for your position within the request itself, and we do not store the coordinates you enter or the location your device shares.
Camera sun viewer
The locator includes an augmented-reality viewer that overlays the Sun's position on the rear camera image so you can check whether anything will block it. It runs entirely inside your browser.
- We do not record the camera image. The video is displayed on screen and nothing else: no capture, no frame is stored, and no image is sent to this server or to any third party.
- Compass and accelerometer readings are processed in your browser to work out where the phone is pointing. They are neither transmitted nor stored.
- Closing the viewer stops every camera track immediately, which is what turns off your system's camera indicator. The same happens if you leave the page.
- Coordinates are not stored: they are used to ask our API for the eclipse computation and discarded when the request ends.
- Your browser will ask for camera and orientation-sensor permission separately. You may refuse: the viewer still works with manual adjustment, and without the camera it simply does not open.
Retention#
Classified listings expire automatically and in any case stop being published after 2 August 2027. Directory entries remain as long as the business wants them. You can request removal at any time.
Recipients#
Data is hosted with hosting and database providers acting as data processors. It is not sold or transferred to third parties for commercial purposes.
Your rights#
You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to contacto@ceutaeclipse.es. You may also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency if you consider the processing unlawful.
